An arcade game made for your pub

PubPixels is a coin-op arcade machine with a game that is all about your pub: your town, your characters, your in-jokes. We install it free, and you keep half of everything it takes.

How it works

From your stories to a playable game

You supply the local knowledge. We turn it into a game, and you sign it off before anyone plays it.

  1. Tell us about your pub

Upload a few photos and chat with our AI assistant about the pub, the town and the in-jokes.

  2. We build your game

Levels themed on your town, local characters and a boss, all in pixel art. The final level is always the pub itself.

  3. Preview and approve

Play it in your browser first. Nothing reaches the machine until you say so.

  4. Keep it fresh

Add a note for the week, like a match result, a birthday or Halloween, and the game picks it up in its weekly refresh.

On the night

Something a phone can't do

A phone game is private. This one is out in the open, takes cash and gives the whole room something to watch.

A game about your pub
Your town, your pub and your in-jokes are in every level. No other machine by the wall can say that.
A show for the room
The second screen draws people in when the machine is idle, and shows the game live while someone is playing.
A weekly leaderboard
Each pub has its own table every week, so there is always a top score to beat.
Coins and notes, no app
Nothing to download and nothing to sign up for. Put €2 in and play.

The deal

No cost to you. Half the takings.

It works like the jukebox or the pool table: we supply the machine, and what goes into it is shared.

Free to install and maintain
We install the machine and we maintain it. There is nothing to pay up front.
A 50/50 split
Every play costs €2, and half of what goes in is yours.
The cash stays with you
Nobody calls round to empty it. The machine logs every coin and note, you get a monthly statement, and our half is collected by direct debit.
Amusement only
No prizes and no payouts, ever. It is an arcade game, not a gaming machine, and we look after and pay for the amusement machine licence.

Questions

Before you ask

Who decides what goes in the game?
You do. You preview and play every version in your browser, and nothing goes on the machine until you approve it.
Can real people appear in it?
Only if you confirm they have agreed. Anything the game says about people is kept affectionate, never insulting.
Can we use famous characters or brands?
No. Every game uses original characters and original art, even where a well-known one would be funny.
What happens if the internet goes down?
The machine can't be played until the connection is back, because the game is loaded from our servers. We monitor every machine, so we know when one has dropped off.
